We arrived in San Diego in the morning hours and made our way by SuperShuttle to the Hilton Garden Inn San Diego Old Town/SeaWorld Area. Once we had checked in we went out to find some lunch. We stumbled upon the Casa Guadalajara Mexican restaurant which had the most incredible Mexican dishes I have ever tasted! The food, service and atmosphere at Casa Guadalajara was absolutely incredible.
Leslee and I purchased tickets to the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System and took the train to the San Diego Gaslight Quarter. There we walked up and down the streets admiring the buildings, art galleries, and ultimately stopping in the Ghirardelli shop for a shake and a cookie. This was so good yet so filling. We explored the whole area on foot and noted the folks who were standing in line for hours before the premiere of Star Wars the Force Awakens opened. As night slowly fell and our legs tuckered out we headed to Dick’s Last Resort for a drink and small bite to eat. This was a must-do stop for us, and although there was little activity at the restaurant on this evening we still had a good time.
Enlivened with San Diego for the day and still reeling from our long east coast flight we headed back to the hotel and called it a night.
